Spring is well and truly here. Garden get togethers are a-go, daffodils are in full bloom, and the weather is, well, frankly, very British!
If you want to escape the chill and finally start the spring clean you’ve been putting off for weeks (we hear you), we’ve put together a little list of life-changing hacks for you…
Ban the wet wipes
Did you know moisture actually attracts more dust? No, us neither. It’s best to use a dry antic static cloth to prevent build-up (and sneezes).
Get the oven zesty
Lemon oil is a great degreaser and can be a good tool for removing stubborn grease stains. Spray a mixture of water, vinegar and lemon oil onto your hob or oven and wipe clean. If that doesn’t cut it, sprinkle baking soda first and then spray the solution.
Clean your windows on a cloudy day
…this shouldn’t be a problem given the current weather! Bright sunshine can cause your cleaning solution to dry too quickly and result in dirty streaks. White vinegar + newspaper = sparkle.
A dishwasher isn’t just for dishes
Rubber flip-flops, make-up and hair brushes, flower vases…we could go on. You can safely clean many household objects in the dishwasher, just not any electrical goods please.
Nuke a sponge in your microwave
Dampen a sponge and microwave on high for two minutes. It will kill any bacteria and you can then use the warm sponge for a good wipe down.
Use tea bags on your shoes
Next time you make a cuppa, dry out the tea bag and place them near the toes at the sole of the shoe. The bag absorbs moisture and, with it, cheesy smells!
Your house will be spick-and-span in no time! Or try out our favourite hack of all…
Spend more time outside and leave the cleaning for a(nother) rainy day.
